Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire

Pick up at 8:30 AM from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi and depart for Tarangire National Park with picnic lunch boxes for a full day game drive. The drive takes you through beautiful Maasai villages and open savannah landscapes before arriving at the park gate. Tarangire National Park is famous for its large herds of elephants, giant baobab trees, and diverse wildlife. As you enter the park, the vast golden plains and scattered acacia trees set the perfect scene for wildlife viewing. Enjoy a full day game drive along the Tarangire River, where many animals gather to drink, especially during the dry season. You may spot elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, impalas, and various bird species. A stop will be made at a scenic picnic site for lunch while enjoying the surrounding nature and views. After lunch, continue with an afternoon game drive exploring different areas of the park. In the late afternoon, exit the park and drive to your camp or lodge in Karatu or near Lake Manyara for dinner and overnight stay, preparing for the next day’s adventure.

Day 2: Tarangire to lake Manyara

After breakfast at your camp or lodge, depart for Lake Manyara National Park for a full day game drive with picnic lunch boxes. The drive takes you through the scenic Great Rift Valley escarpment, offering stunning views of the lake and surrounding landscapes. As you enter Lake Manyara National Park, you will pass through lush groundwater forests filled with acacia and mahogany trees, creating a beautiful setting for wildlife viewing. Enjoy a morning game drive where you may spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, hippos, and troops of baboons along the roadside. Lake Manyara is also famous for its tree-climbing lions, though spotting them depends on luck. The park is home to a wide variety of bird species, including flamingos, pelicans, and storks, often seen along the lake shoreline. A picnic lunch will be served at a designated site inside the park while enjoying views of the lake and wildlife. After lunch, continue with an afternoon game drive exploring different habitats including forest, open plains, and lakeshore areas. In the late afternoon, exit the park and drive to your lodge or camp in Karatu/Manyara area for dinner and overnight stay, relaxing after a memorable day of wildlife viewing.

Day 3: Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro crater to Arusha

After an early breakfast, depart from your lodge and drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a half-day game drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater. Upon arrival, descend 600 meters into the crater floor where one of Africa’s most incredible wildlife experiences awaits. The crater is home to a high concentration of animals including lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, and if lucky, the rare black rhino. Enjoy a morning game drive across the crater’s open grasslands, small lakes, and acacia forests. A picnic lunch will be served at the famous hippo pool picnic site, where you can relax while watching hippos and birds nearby. After lunch, continue with a short afternoon game drive before ascending the crater walls. In the afternoon, begin the drive back to Arusha with scenic views of the highlands and Maasai villages along the way. You will arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon or early evening, marking the end of your 3-Day Tanzania group sharing Safari.
