You will be picked up from your hotel or lodge in Arusha or Moshi around 6:00–6:30 AM after an early breakfast. Your safari begins with a scenic 2–3 hour drive to Tarangire National Park in a private 4×4 Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof for excellent wildlife viewing. Upon arrival, enjoy a full morning game drive along the Tarangire River valley – famous for enormous elephant herds (often hundreds drinking together), giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, and many antelope species. Look out for predators like lions and leopards resting in trees or on termite mounds, plus over 550 bird species including ostriches and ground hornbills. The landscape is dotted with ancient baobab trees and acacia woodlands – perfect for photography. Midday, relax with a picnic lunch at a scenic spot overlooking the river or swamps. In the afternoon, continue with flexible game drives at your preferred pace – explore different areas of the park for more wildlife sightings and golden-hour photography.
